I transform complex infrastructure into reliable, automated systems. Passionate about CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native architecture, and the philosophy that everything should be code. Currently building skills at the intersection of Dev + Ops.
Hey, I'm Kapil Thagunna — a passionate DevOps enthusiast who fell in love with the idea that infrastructure should be as reliable and repeatable as software. My journey started when I realized that a well-engineered deployment pipeline could be the difference between a team shipping confidently and shipping fearfully.
Over the past 2+ years of self-directed learning, I've immersed myself in cloud platforms, container orchestration, and everything IaC. I believe in the philosophy that "if it's not automated, it's technical debt" — and I apply that mindset to every system I touch, whether it's a simple deployment script or a full multi-environment Kubernetes cluster.
Currently focused on deepening my expertise in cloud-native architectures, GitOps workflows, and observability. I love homelab experiments, contributing to open-source tooling, and helping teams move faster without sacrificing stability.
Tools and technologies I've been building with. Proficiency levels reflect hands-on project experience.
// CI/CD Pipeline — typical workflow
Real-world infrastructure and automation projects. Each one solved an actual engineering problem.
Complete 3-tier application infrastructure on AWS using Terraform modules. VPC, ALB, ECS, RDS with auto-scaling, security groups, and remote state management.
Full observability stack with Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki running on Docker Compose. Custom dashboards, alert rules, and log aggregation from 10+ services.
Kubernetes cluster running full GitOps with ArgoCD. Multi-app deployment, RBAC configuration, automatic sync policies, and rollback on drift detection.
Event-driven serverless API with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3. Full IaC with SAM template, CI/CD pipeline, and CloudWatch observability.
Centralized logging with ELK stack. Filebeat agents ship logs from 20+ microservices, Logstash parses them, and Kibana dashboards surface anomalies with PagerDuty alerting.
